Twinkle

The twinkle in my daughter’s eyes can only be safely viewed through a veil.  Now I’ll leave the veil reference alone because I simply can’t get  my brain wrapped around the concept of her growing up but the twinkle is worth commenting on.  She has a fire in her than can be exasperating but somehow she always manages to win you back with an unrivaled twinkle.

The moment she began to walk she started to torment her big brother.  Her favorite game was to walk over to him, snatch one his precious toys and then toddle off as quickly as her little legs could carry her.  He’d cry, chase after her and like a scene from Cops she’d toss the contraband aside as soon as her capture was imminent.  If you were lucky enough to witness one of her capers you’d notice at the end, as her brother veered off to recover his toy, that she would be sporting a twinkle much like this one.

Aptly titled! To be young and happy, it’s so pure :) I also like how the veil lends a sense of dreaminess and nostalgia.

Thanks Mami! You’re right–it’s so genuine at this age.

Outstanding! Well done in keeping it low-key in B&W, I think I would have blown it out and ruined it, losing the waves in the veil. Well done.

Thanks Tim. It’s low-key but I sure tried like crazy to make it high-key. My gut also led me to blow it out and I just couldn’t get a pleasant image. I’ve been considering whether it still needs a tiny bit of dodging but have held off for fear that I’ll just slowly dodge it to death.
