Toes Pose

For my kids reading is not some passive cerebral activity, it is a sport.  When engrossed by a story their bodies contort, flop, spasm, dance, and spin as they move through the adventure.  They are a part of the narrative in ways that we adults can’t be…or choose not to be.

I took this picture yesterday as my daughter explored a new book.  As she looked at the pictures my daughter’s feet, a mirror of her emotions, danced across the floor.  When excited they flew in all directions and when timid, she drew them in protectively.  This image caught the latter.

    I often sat like that with my feet drawn in when I was a kid.. Her little sandals are adorable. Sweet capture.
