The end of summer in Southern California is a great time for me. Most importantly I become a lot less cranky from the heat but there’s an added benefit to our fall and winter. We actually develop a firmament. For months on end we suffer through cloudless blue skies and oppressive heat but when summer fades we have a few months worthy of the world’s envy. Cry me a river, right? Yes, my complaints border on annoying–poor Chris has to live in Southern California. I do love it here; it’s just that for a few months between October and March I really love it here. The sunbaked earth turns green, poppies bloom, and skies become intriguing to photograph. Winter serves to remind me exactly why I live here. I can’t wait to see what this season brings.

Great shot. I really like the small dark accents of the middle ground trees. Captures a nice California drive.
Thanks Daniel!
like the shot; we have similar weather here; mostly with speedy winds from the mountains;
Thank you Michael–It can sweep in quickly and is nicely dramatic.
