Life goes by fast and joyful pursuits like photography can be difficult to crowbar into daily life. I take quite a few pictures on my way to and from work. The light is better then of course, but mainly it’s some of the only time I have to shoot. I liken it to speed chess. I’ve got to make my moves quickly and strategically. Before I pull out of the driveway I set my camera up with whatever settings are appropriate, remove the cap, fire it up and then I drive. You have to think several moves ahead.
This shot was on the way to work the same day I shot California Sky but at the other end of the day. As I left the house it was pretty clear that the sky would be spectacular and that my timing was good. I drove a different route to work so that I could snap a few shots from a picturesque vantage point and this is what I got.
