Consider the magnificent potential of human creativity. Before there was a Sistine Chapel ceiling there was a hesitant sculptor who nervously grasped an inauspicious palate of paint. From within an endless mishmash of potential piano keystrokes a sickly young man found beautiful order and from that materialized the works of Chopin. A sea of words and letters had no meaning until the Bard of Avon deftly picked and chose just the right ones to tell the greatest stories of an age. A million scenes unfolded around a Paris train station but a man with a Leica saw another man leaping and Derrière la gare de Saint-Lazare was born in an instant.
A child, right this very moment, is beginning to think of the world in ways no one before her ever has. She will give us something unheard of, something monumental and the world will never be the same. I can’t wait to discover her gift to us all.

Wow so cool. Fun to imagine what can be created from this paint and human imagination. Great words too in this post!

A striking photo and inspiring thoughts, Christopher. This is a worthy addition to your blog. Good work all around.
Talent, determination, inspiration, dreams, vision, tenacity and other attributes have all worked together in the lives of so many to give us “something more” in life. We really should be grateful for one another. I’d like to think that each one of us has something to add to this palette of life’s colors.
Best wishes…
So true Phil–perhaps an overworked phrase but we really are all part of a tapestry. Thanks and cheers!

Gorgeous colors and I love how left side of the frame is exposed to almost white. Yay for natural light! My hope is that there is a spark in each of us that, when given enough oxygen, can be tended into a fire of creativity. I guess we can’t all be Chopin, but I like the idea that our creative journeys make us more actualized human beings anyway.
Thanks so much Corinna! There’s no question that, for me, exploring the creative (and very underdeveloped) right side of my brain has been good for me as a person. I definitely won’t ever be Chopin but I’ve long had a fascination with the Gretsky effect–what is it about a very small group of people that so sets them apart in an area? What is it that allows them to do the unthinkable?
j’aime beaucoup cette composition aux très belles couleurs.
Merci beaucoup Marie!
More wonderful reflection. What a terrific marriage of words and image you offer. Fabulous work!
