One morning I was surveying this very calm bay from a knoll when a slow moving barge made a giant circle near me. A series of small waves spread out from its wake and disturbed the glassy surface of the water. Visually I really liked how the ripples distorted the reflections in the water and I realized that they contrasted nicely with the much more linear objects in the foreground.
I find the signpost signaling the end of a storm drain to be an interesting element in the scene as well. The weatherbeaten tables are placed, presumably, for a scenic view of the bay but diners have to look past a strangely askew sign warning that water in the area may be less than ideal. Here again we see a contrast in the scene, this time of serene nature juxtaposed with the trappings of man.

This looks pretty zen, kind of like those Japanese gardens and stuff. I like the way you simply accept everything in the scene. The sign, the tables; nothing feels out of place.
Hi Will! Thanks for the comment and for stopping by! It was a pretty zen moment watching the ripples change the scene in infinite ways.
I see what you are saying with this image, re: man v nature.
And perfect title.
Thanks Kala!
