Change Is Hard

Change is inevitable we’re told but that does not keep it from being difficult. It’s been a trying week. Work changes, home changes, school changes–they all bear down and the cumulative effect can be smothering. Still, photography fortifies me against the crush. You’d think given this gift photography gives me I’d leave it alone.  You’d think…

I’ve been talking with some very talented people lately and it’s become clear that I have to make some changes if I want to move my photography forward. There are so many talented photographers out there and as I’ve entered this world of photoblogging it’s made me realize ever more clearly that I have a long way to go and some significant hurdles to leap.

No matter–I’m excited about the challenge and I can’t wait to change…at least when it comes to photography.

Such a stunning image. I love how you captured the vastness of the sky. Beautiful in b&w. And – yes – change is hard..but oh so necessary!!!

Dramatic sky and misty mountains I like.

There are few folk who manage to pick up a camera and produce immediate master-pieces, it’s more a case of being “an instant success after 20 years of trying”

Thanks George! It’s a life’s work for sure–wouldn’t be much fun if it were easy I guess. Cheers!

Nice photo. The shapes of the clouds are very unsettling compared to the subtle and stable land below. Well done.

I like the tones in this image and the dramatic composition. As to your words: change makes me VERY uncomfortable, yet sometimes it brings out the best in me. This may happen for you too Christopher. I wish you all the best in your endeavors.

Thanks Klaus, me too. Definitely trying to find my way with a new process–trying to do enough but not too much.
